Equipment Hire

We have a range of camping, in particular expedition equipment that is available for anyone within Scouting to borrow. All of our equipment is in excellent condition, and is maintained to a high standard. We therefore ask each individual who plans to borrow equipment to fill out a borrowing contract. There is also a nominal fee for borrowing equipment, you can find out more about this along with the borrowing contract details further down the page.

Equipment available for Hire

Vango 2 Man tents

The Vango tents are ideal for expeditions or lightweight camping. The tents will comfortably sleep 2 people, and have a roomy porch for storing equipment.

Vango 3 Man tents

These Vango tents are very lightweight, are ideal for expeditions and will accommodate 3 people with equipment.

Trangia Stoves

These Trangia's are suitable to cater for 2 to 3 people. They include 2 pans, lids and a frying pan. Trangias are supplied filled with fuel. We can also equip you with a fuel bottle.

Vango Sherpa 65L Rucksack's

We have a large number of Vango Sherpa rucksacks available. These are suitable for general camping, walking and expeditions.

We have a number of different maps available:
- OL1: Dark Peak (North Peak District) - Laminated
- OL24: White Peak (South Peak District) - Laminated
- Explorer 278: Sheffield and Barnsley - Not Laminated, will require a map case
- OL4: Lake District (North West) - Laminated
- OL5: Lake District (North East) - Laminated
- OL6: Lake District (South West) - Laminated
- OL7: Lake District (South East) - Laminated

Nominal Fee for borrowing Equipment

To enable us to keep our equipment in excellent condition we charge £2.00 per per person per day. For that £2.00 cost, the individual can borrow as much equipment as they require.

Example: Bob borrows a tent, stove, map and compass for 4 days. So £2.00 x 4 days = £8. We only charge for the days the equipment is in use.

We spend this money on maintenance and repairs to equipment, and enables us to replace it when necessary.

Borrowing Contract

If your borrowing equipment as an individual or as part of a group, you will be required to fill in a borrowing contract. This states that you are responsible for the equipment whilst you are borrowing it. If equipment becomes damaged or stolen, then you are responsible to foot the bill to repair or replace it.
