If you'd like to borrow some equipment, please contact our quartermaster at the email address bellow. Equally if your question hasn't been answered on this page please feel free to ask our quartermaster. Please ensure you have read the 2 sections bellow regarding the borrowing contract and borrowing fee.
To enable us to keep our equipment in excellent condition we charge £2.00 per per person per day. For that £2.00 cost, the individual can borrow as much equipment as they require.
Example: Bob borrows a tent, stove, map and compass for 4 days. So £2.00 x 4 days = £8. We only charge for the days the equipment is in use.
We spend this money on maintenance and repairs to equipment, and enables us to replace it when necessary.
If your borrowing equipment as an individual or as part of a group, you will be required to fill in a borrowing contract. This states that you are responsible for the equipment whilst you are borrowing it. If equipment becomes damaged or stolen, then you are responsible to foot the bill to repair or replace it.
Once filled in, please return the contract with your money in an envelope (Cheques made payable to "Wharncliffe Network Unit"), to the DofE quartermaster. You are download a copy of the borrowing contract from our resources page by clicking here.
